1. Who is it for?
Anyone who has skin that needs some tightening. Typically we don’t see patients coming in under 30 year of age but there is no rule! If you are seeing the effects of collagen depletion (lax and loose skin, thin skin, sagging jawline) and would like to rectify it, Thermage is the best treatment on the market for doing so.
It lifts, tightens, tones, contours and smoothes. There is no other treatment in the world that can do all of this! It is even safe for breastfeeding mum’s.
2. What does it do?
Thermage is branded “the non-surgical facelift” which can sound a little daunting at first! Once the word “facelift” loses its shock we can look deeper into how amazing and non-invasive this treatment is. It is loved by celebrities for having no downtime and amazing results lasting up to five years.
Thermage has many effects including softened wrinkles and lines, reduced worry and laugh lines, lifted eyelids, reduced thin/crepey skin and reduced crow’s feet. All of this is achieved by stimulating your body’s own collagen forming mechanisms!
3. How does it work?
Thermage is a facial and body treatment used to tighten and lift the skin by stimulating the formation of collagen. Thermage utilises Thermage Monopolar Radio Frequency. The benefit of which is that the bulk heating targets the collagen-rich layers of the dermis stimulating the production of new collagen but the Radio Frequency also travels along the fibrous septea causing them to contract and give a contouring effect.
Collagen takes several months to produce. So the Thermage Radio Frequency bulk heating mechanism stimulates new collagen, which will gradually form (over 3-6 months) and over this time the patient can expect to see a fuller, more toned and lifted appearance.
4. What does it feel like?
You will feel mostly comfortable with a slight heating sensation on the skin. The heat will feel stronger or weaker in different areas but it shouldn’t ever feel “painful”. Using the handheld Thermage device, your skin therapist will go over the requested area multiple times. Every time the device touches your skin, you’ll feel a heating sensation followed by a cooling sensation.
The heat accompanies the skin tightening process, and the cooling means your skin’s surface is protected. Your therapist will monitor the heat intensity and your level of comfort during the treatment.
Thermage treatments range from 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on the location, size, and condition of the area. On average, body areas tend to take 90 or more, while areas like the eyelids and face take about 45 minutes.
5. What is the cost?
$2,400 for a treatment here at Skin Divinity (we offer Zippay and Afterpay) with results lasting up to five years from one treatment. The length of your results is usually dependant on the lifestyle you live. Avoiding sun exposure, using the correct home products and taking good care of your skin will prolong results. Your treatment will only be performed by one of our Thermage Trained and Certified Therapists in a completely safe and monitored environment.
If you are considering Thermage and you would like to have a consult and chat with us, don’t hesitate to call the clinic and we can talk it through to see if Thermage is the best option for you!
