Grace came to us just under 3 months ago for help with painful cystic acne and subsequent scarring. What her skin needed first and foremost was to calm the inflammation and from there we could work on the skin to clear bacteria, and improve the skin tone and structure.
We worked on Grace’s skin with a variety of at home products such as Aspect Hydrating Serum, Aspect Retinol Brulee and Aspect Redless. Using these products at home was instrumental to maximising our in clinic treatments. Our In clinic treatments consisted of a series of peels. Once we had Grace’s acne under control we did an AMAZING advanced peel called the Deep Sea Peel ($249) which absolutely transformed Grace’s skin.
What Is The Deep Sea peel?
The Deep Sea Peel is a potent “non-acid” peel. It is a plant and herb based peel (coral, sponge, lichen, shea butter and orange oil among the key ingredients) which assists in the treatment of fine lines and wrinkles, photodamage, acne, acne scarring, hyperpigmentation and melasma.
It’s effectiveness is achieved through lifting the epidermis to promote the shedding and removal of old, damaged skin cells. The combined action of friction and marine silicates causes a micro-trauma to the skin (similar to needling) and promotes the natural rejuvenation process.
What Does The Deep Sea Peel Do?
When the sea herbs are massaged into the skin an incredibly effective chemical reaction occurs initiating a cascade of cellular processes. Simultaneously, the release and deep delivery of minerals and vitamins from the sea herbs serve to condition and improve skin health, improving blood flow, oxygen and nutrient supply to the skin and assisting in renewal and resurfacing. As excess skin is sloughed off, the skin naturally replenishes moistures levels, renews collagen synthesis and improves overall epidermal structure.
What Is The Process Like?
The effectiveness of the peel is directly related to the level of absorption which is maximised through circular massage movements. The longer and deeper the massage, the deeper the peel penetration. This is not a comfortable feeling (pricking and heat) and your therapist will work with you to determine the length you can handle. Once your peel has been massaged in for 3-10 minutes (depending on your tolerance) it will be removed and cooling compresses and balms will be applied.
The result from one Deep Sea Peel is truly remarkable! You will notice the overall texture of the skin to be smoother, brighter, more even and hydrated with scar and pigment reduction as well as fine lines and wrinkles. To further these results we can look at doing another Deep Sea Peel and/or microneedling (Dermapen). Don’t hesitate to reach out to us to assess your eligibility for an advanced peel. Grace says she feels like her life has been changed through it!
